Violinist João Paulo Santos, born in Fajões, Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, is 'La Mouche'. João Paulo began his violin studies at the age of 9 at the São João da Madeira music academy where he received tuition from Prof. Pereira de Sousa and later Prof. Richard Tomes. He went on to become violinist of the rock/celt band Celtibéria and soon started to appear with many other bands and orchestras as a solo guest artist. He has performed widely throughout Portugal and also in Spain and Switzerland, at venues such as:

João Paulo Santos as 'La Mouche' is considered by many critics to be the best live violin act in Portugal and Spain, having given 122 performances in Portugal, Spain and Switzerland during 2008. He has performed in collaboration with DJ's of international renown, such as Hallux, Miguel Barros, The Fox, Erich Ensastigue (México), Dj Rivero (Espanha) among others.
He is the violinist of the well known 'Rise Up' theme by Yves La rock (Vandalism Remix – Violin version) which has received wide media exposure in Europe and South America, and is frequently heard at a wide variety of clubs on both continents. He was recently invited to take part in the CD TOUR NOITE.PT (Ano 2008) a tour organised by the well known Portuguese music magazine Noite.pt.

'La Mouche' is a highly innovative live act which fuses violin mastery with House music, creating a unique and exciting ambiente and sonority.
